It’s here at long last, the official first days of spring here in the UK.

In honour of the fresher climates reaching our shores, I decided it was the best time to add a bit of colour into the mix, and wore an old favourite top of mine a preppy yellow piece from Topman.

As the clocks go forward an hour this weekend and the nights get brighter. I thought it would be a great time to showcase the latest editorial for Vogue Homme Japan

"Awake for the season"

Menswear and editorial is at the top of its game. With so many great collections, stylist & creatives, its no wonder that competition is momentarily so high.

But sometimes its not about the greatest creatives, background & imagery as Nicola Formichetti shows us in his latest shoot with Allen Taylor.

For this shoot Nicola has stripped it back, the majority of the photos are black & white but through selective styling & a keen eye for detail Formichetti’s picture pack a heavy weight punch.

Start here in the sunshine, peering out the window & over the fields makes me realise that the spring is coming.

With the bushes budding, blossom starting to show I searched for an editorial which reminds me of the spring & that I found.

I've had a couple of emails off readers from all over, generally asking for more of a style break down on shoots. So, thinking about what you guys have said... I've decided that weekly i'm going to do a style write up.

Heres is Max Rendell, in the GQ Style (march 2012). 

And I really enjoy this look. 

The whole outfit is pulled together from the latest McQueen collection, the racer jacket adds a great casual touch styled over the formal shirt (with it's Pelayo Diaz saftey pin style collar!). And it's mini flashes of fun & colour aren't menacing or over powering.

 The bleach jeans for me make the look. Formally known throughout the UK as an association with punk era, I'm really enjoying the fact that they've been used with this softer image. With a turn-up in the trouser leg, white tennis socks & creepers,

Max Rendell will be well on his way to the finish, with no pit stops.
