Lonely George & Luca Finotti's Volcanoes.

Lonely George & Volcanoes.

I'm always trying new ways to feature Fashion & the environment.
For readers who read this blog regularly or know me, will know that I’m massively into the conservation and protection of species.
It seem these days mainly due to the human race, that the disappearance of animals and plants has become a natural process or even something that we now expect to happen.

A recent news clip showed that Lonely George or Lonesome George had died. For those of you who don’t know who ‘Lonely George’ was, he was last of subspecies of Galapagos Pinta Tortoise (Chelonoidis nigra becki, if you want the real name!) and in his later years of life became known as the rarest creature in the world.

"The Sweet Escape" - Kapu Bar, Cardiff.

“The Sweet Escape” – Kapu Bar, Cardiff.

Sometimes the confines of the city bear down on us hard. The everyday life and urban jungle that the city streets provide can be mentally & physically challenging. But a new venue here in Cardiff offers an escape from intense towers and consuming columns in the form of Kapu Cardiff.

The first of it’s kind in this area; Kapu offers an explosion of flavours and sounds, swept off the shores of Polynesians islands straight to the heart of Cardiff. Each element has been taken into consideration; the obvious details are the kitted out walls, with its bamboo-clad design and the thatch roof ceiling, all the way down to the tiki themed glasses (Ceramic coconuts!) and the wicker cage style lights.

The less visual details were flattered by audio components that added to this well-blended cocktail of tiki fun. The sound was a fun and flirtatious mix of R’n’B and light hed kandi beach house which complimented the atmosphere of the venue (This is music which I have been waiting to descend on Cardiff for a long time!). The sounds produced by Dj Jay Styles & Owen Roberts (The bongo player) really set off the event!

Guests were treated to a selection of exotic cocktails and food off the coeliac menu. (These guests included Joe Calzaghe & Nathan Cleverly).

Even though the concept is not the first of its kind, with tiki style bar & grills already established in London, Reading & Cheltenham; Mill lane has always been at the forefront of introducing a new approach to venues in Cardiff.

"For me personally this is an exciting new concept for us here in Cardiff. Bringing together all my favourite elements – Travel, cocktails & music. I believe Kapu, Cardiff will be moving from the Polynesian inspiration it was developed from and gaining a new home on Welsh shores."

"Are you coming to cool off?"

Front runner - Versace.

“Are you coming to cool off?”

Summer is upon, June is here and the temperature begins to soar. (This may not apply to you if you live in around 80% of the UK). Many people will now be starting their holidays aboard where swimwear will become an essential piece.

A Religious Affair: The Missionary.

A Religious Affair: The Missionary.

Through looking at recent men’s editorial religion seems to be an occurring trend as of late. And to be honest, I couldn’t originally decide which shoot to put up, but as soon as I came across this shoot I knew it would be the one.

This shoot is Feilpe Hernandez by Ali Daniel titled: The Missionary.

Welcome to Cesar's Palace.

The Frankie Morello Coat!

Caesar’s Palace.

I found this shoot while trawling through endless pages searching for a SS collection clear Mac by Frankie Morello. (Which I wanted to feature for my designer picks at www.Mansnaps.com!)

This is a shoot for TOH! Magazine shot by photographer Simon and excellently styled by Alex Vaccani. The model in the shoot is Caio Cesar who is wearing delightful pieces by Calvin Klein, Moschino, Frankie Morello, Kenzo, Prada, Adidas Originals by Jeremy Scott, Marios, Aussie Bum, Vivienne Westwood… And that’s just to name a few.
