'Gentleman's Club'
Vogue Homme Japan invites you into the ‘Gentleman’s Club’.
The editorial, shot by Matt Irwin, features models Tom
Pricone, Ben Shaul, Mark Stevens, Noah Huntley, Norbert Michalke and Chris
Tschupp.
In all honesty when you look at this editorial, you can’t
help but think that some of the imagery is camp. Older groomed gentleman in a
collection of high fashion, well-styled outfits can’t help but place the term
‘fashion daddy’ on the tongue.
But personally I don’t find this intimidating.
Stylist, Shun Watanbe’s choices of fashion picks are
excellent.
Luxurious, inviting and vivid each style has been
exceptionally picked for each model with complimentary results. With
collections including Tom Ford and Dolce & Gabbana, I have always applauded
Vogue Homme Japan (and many other Asian based fashion mags) for not being
intimated by styling choices.
It is great to see Vogue Homme Japan going out with a
fashion bang for their final issue.
This is a shoot I will be adding to the archives, so
when I grace my forties I can use this as a reference.
