Gentleman's Quarter.

Gentleman’s Quarters.

When I was younger, I remember sitting in coffee shops with my mum and people watching. I recall a regular phrase of hers would be “less is more Owen, remember that”.
Obviously growing up in the 90’s this phrase has valuable meaning, especially when you consider the use of neon, netted vests, tartan and studs.
Nowadays, we have more freedom to overly indulge in layers and luxuries, as demonstrated by this editorial by Christopher Logan.

In the editorial named ‘Gentleman’s Quarters’, for Miami Living Magazine, we’re introduced to layering and encouraged to ‘Go heavy on the coats, vests, accessories and mixed textures’.

Wait, there is more. Click here to see the rest.

They say there is strength in numbers and with this editorial I see great strength coming from the team that put it together. There are many strong components from the photography to styling, layout to models.

Clear direction in the photography by Christopher Logan is visible to all. His use of soft lighting and tinted colour create that yielding winter glow that works so complimentary with the wintry styling by Beagy Zielinski.

Zielinski’s use of modern layering places a new face on the more ‘refined’ and ‘classical’ take on styling winter wear. The indulgence in textures such as studs, leathers and suede, combined with prints/colours of all kinds – Stripes, bold orange and warm gold’s should theoretically be ghastly. But it isn’t.

In my opinion a fantastic shoot. Fresh, sexy and articulate – Christopher Logan is a name that’s work I look forward to featuring again in the future.

‘Gentleman’s Quarters’ will be featured in the Nov/Dec edition of Miami Living.

Proof that you shouldn't always fear print.

Perfect Styling.
