"Oh, I do like to be beside the seaside" - Givenchy SS12

Givenchy ss12

Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott have done it again, now producing another masterful editorial for Givenchy ss12.

The campaign featuring the worlds number one Amazon, Gisele Bundchen and Italian boy wonder Simone Nobili takes place on at the beach in a slightly ‘Twilight-esque’ manner with its dark afternoon to night time skyline. ( I say twilight as it reminds me of the first time Bella goes to the beach with her friends from school!)

Simon & Matthew - Team Work.

We have many have many great working partnerships out there…
Elton John & Kike Dee, Ben & Jerry’s… even Jack & Jill were a good combo.

Today, I saw another good team in the form of Simon Tham & Matthew Coatsworth featured in the latest issue of Posi+tive Magazine.

British Boy & Versace.

It seems mad to be doing a write up on SS12, when there is so much buzz already surrounding autumn/winter 12-13. But after noticing that British model, Ryan Barrett, was the face of the SS Versace campaign.
I couldn’t resist.

Mama Wolf & The New Moon.

The lady herself - Kelly Cutrone.

Mama Wolf & The New Moon.

Yesterday, the earth saw the first full moon of the new year, known as 'The Wolf Moon'.
In the vein of new beginnings, one should take a page from lunar folklore & consider starting an exciting new venture on the first day after the full moon.

So, with all this knowledge in mind I took to starting on a few new projects (none of which at the moment id like to disclose.. As of yet!)
With these new projects in mind, I was looking for guidance & glanced up on the book shelf to "Normal gets you Nowhere - Kelly Cutrone".

Kelly Cutrone, who refers to herself as 'Mama Wolf', is well known for being the straight up power bitch on the City. She shows many different sides throughout this book. The book is inspiring & Spiritual (But in no way is it forced down your throat like some books..) Kelly express' her views through opinion & life experience. Highlights 'over looked' greats such as Eleanor Roosevelt and quotes from John Lennon, Arnold H Glasow & William Blake. It features many great subheading such as..
  • "If you're not getting fucked by midnight Go Home"
  • "Heart - Health, Earth, Art, Revolution, Truth"
  • "Do not ask what a publicity stunt can do for you, ask what you can do with a publicity stunt".
These quotes don't capture the whole concept of the book though but they're memorable and they made me chuckle.

There's so many of things in this book that have made me want to grow & reading this book has made me realise that there is room for change and Kelly sees that.

In my eyes Kelly Cutrone belongs on Dollar Bills, In the politicians cabinet but also a recognised world leader for Women & Gay Men.
READ IT.

New Year.

Josh Beech by Yu Tsai 2011.

New Year.

Another new start, another fresh slate of 365 (Or 366!) days to sink our teeth into.
We start the New Year with all our bright & shiny ideas of how we are going to plan out and have our most successful year.
But the New Year is also a time for reflection, a quick look back (Just a glance mind, it’s important not to dwell) at the last year we leave behind us & learning from the mistakes or things that didn’t go so well to help us move on into the times ahead.

This year I decided to jot down some “Resolutions”.
They’re not really resolutions as such, like the usual…
Quitting Smoking, giving up chocolate & more trips to the gym.
Just small ideas I’ve noticed to change from my swift glance into the past of having a clear & productive year.
